Alumnus Dan Winters, ’03, has worked at [WHO-HD](http://whotv.com/)’s Channel 13 News for nine years and on Saturday he won his second consecutive Upper Midwest Emmy for Best On-Camera Talent – News Anchor from the Upper Midwest Chapter of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

After graduating from the Greenlee School in 2003, Winters continued working for KCCI-TV, where he had also worked as a student. While working at KCCI Dan covered the 2004 VEISHEA riots. Later that year, Dan was awarded “First Place TV Reporting” at the 2004 Hearst Journalism Awards Championship in San Francisco.

His career at WHO-HD began in 2004, when he accepted a position as a weekend morning anchor and reporter. In November 2012, Winters took over one of the station’s nightly news co-anchor positions following the retirement of John Bachman. Today he continues to report for the station and co-anchor its 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts. Dan’s latest Emmy brings his lifetime count to four.

Winters has also served on the Greenlee School’s Advisory Council since 2013.
