Finishing with the most votes in our online poll, Annelise Wells, junior in journalism and mass communication, is the winner of Round 1 of the 2019 Greenlee Summer Intern Blogging Competition.

In her blog post, Wells shared her experience interning at the Carroll Times Herald, a news organization in Carroll, Iowa. Wells received a $50 Amazon e-gift card.

Three finalists were named in Round 1 of the competition: Madalyn Casady, Emilee Drost and Wells.

The annual Greenlee Summer Intern Blogging Competition provides a platform for Greenlee students to write about their internship experiences and share what they’ve learned with their peers. All Greenlee majors participating in a summer internship related to journalism, advertising or public relations were invited to participate in two rounds of competition. Finalists were selected in each round based on content and quality of writing, and their work was published on the Greenlee student experience blog. The author of the post that received the most votes in a online poll was declared the winner of that round.
