What clubs and organizations have you been involved in, both within and outside of the Greenlee School?
I have been involved in Cardinal & Gold, PRSSA (served as the PR chair in 2024, and Study Abroad). Outside of the Greenlee school, I have been involved with the Salt Company.
How do you think Greenlee has prepared you for a career in public relations?
The Greenlee School has prepared me for a career in the public relations industry by giving me hands-on experience in and outside of my classes. I have developed essential skills that I use daily in my day-to-day life and in my professional work. Beyond technical work and skills learned, the relationships I have gained through Greenlee have been invaluable. Whether it was a professor, a networking event or a PRSSA workshop, I have had the chance to learn from professionals who have helped to prepare me for the industry. I feel confident and prepared to go out into the real world because of my experiences gained through my internships and Greenlee.
What has been your favorite class at the Greenlee School?
My favorite class was Media Ethics with Dr. Michael Bugeja. This class stood out to me because it provided real-world ethical insights that prepared me for both the workplace and life beyond college. It opened my eyes to the complexities within various industries while also encouraging personal reflection on the kind of professional—and person—I want to be.
What made this class even more impactful was Dr. Bugeja’s dedication to his students. Having a professor who genuinely cares about our future makes a lasting difference in a college career. Because of that, this will always be one of my most memorable classes.
Where did you complete your 4990A internship? Have you had any other internship experiences?
I completed my 4990A internship at Latham Hi-Tech Seeds where I was the marketing intern. I assisted in planning and coordinating the annual Dealer Kickoff event, wrote blogs for the company website, created social media content and videos while helping rebrand their social presence. Along with these, I also developed an annual content calendar, analyzed social media metrics to optimize engagement, and conducted interviews with seed dealers and farmers for content creation. I was also a marketing intern at Pritchard Companies and a social media intern for Live Like Lou, along with being the digital marketing and communications assistant at the Office of Student Financial Aid.
What are your plans after graduation? What do you hope to do long-term in your career?
Upon graduation, I will have the honor of being marketing and communications specialist for Live Like Lou to champion their story and mission in order to leave ALS better than we found it. This is actually a dream role as I felt God instill a passion in me to advocate for those living with ALS and impacted by the disease, as I was once a caregiver for my dad who had ALS. Long-term, I hope to work in public policy or lobbying for ALS legislation, advocating for meaningful change for those affected by the disease. I can see myself switching gears and working in sports entertainment, as well. However, in anything I do, I aspire to be a light and a leading change-maker wherever God leads me.
