Greenlee School launches Studio 308, a new student-produced newsmagazine program

Studio 308 premieres February 23 at 8 p.m. graphic. The Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication at Iowa State University is proud to announce the premiere of Studio 308, a new student-produced newsmagazine program. The show will make its broadcast debut on Monday, Feb. 23, 2026, at 8 p.m. on Greenlee School Television (GSTV).

Studio 308 showcases the next generation of journalists and media professionals through in-depth reporting, feature storytelling, interviews and coverage of issues that matter to the Central Iowa community. The program is produced entirely by Greenlee students, who are responsible for every aspect of the broadcast from editorial planning and reporting to shooting, writing, editing, producing, directing, and on-air presentation.

“This is hands-on journalism at its best,” said Assistant Teaching Professor James McNab, faculty advisor for the show. “Our students are not just learning about media production. They are doing it in real time, under real deadlines, and with full creative and editorial responsibility.”

Each episode of Studio 308 will feature a mix of news updates, long-form features, and studio interviews, reflecting the professional standards and storytelling excellence emphasized throughout the Greenlee curriculum. Students collaborate across reporting, producing and technical roles to deliver a polished, broadcast-quality program.
