I was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. I am serving as a Graduate Administrative Assistant and Teaching Assistant at the Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication. My research topic focuses on the #BlackBoyJoy and how this hashtag can be a tool to reshape the narrative of Black masculinity and manhood within media and societally.

My background includes Student Body President of Iowa State University (2018-2019), Director of Diversity & Inclusion for Iowa State Student Government (2016-2018), Executive Director for Des Moines BLM Foundation, and Des Moines BLM Collective.

#WhyGreenlee: I chose Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication to finish my degree because there is tons of support and guidance that the faculty give to students. The faculty I have worked with have always opened their arms to help me on my professional journey. I am truly excited to be working with faculty who have assisted me on identifying my research topic.
