Iowa State students and twins Myles and Marijke Mendeszoon are the subjects of a new sports documentary directed and produced by Greenlee School of Journalism Assistant Teaching Professor Tony Moton, assisted by a cadre of journalism students. The 39-minute film follows the twins during the 2024 football season; Myles was a backup defensive end and Marijke is an aspiring sports broadcaster. The film tracks how each twin contributes differently to the Cyclones and follows their family’s journey over the season.
The documentary was a collaboration that utilized the skills and talents of the following Iowa State students: Liam Brennan, Marijke Mendeszoon, Blake Petersen, Tri Luu, Dylan Fobian, Jackson Haugh, Haesung Lee, Sylvi Hanson, Taya Melendez and Marcus Williams.
Moton will facilitate a question-and-answer session after the documentary screening. The documentary portion of the event will not be recorded; the question-and-answer session will be recorded and can be found on the Available Recordings page approximately two business days after the event, remaining accessible for three weeks.
