Hansen Reports Latest Achievements, Volunteer Efforts

Academic Adviser Jessica Hansen has won an award for Early Achievement in Academic Advising for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. This award recognizes ISU faculty or staff who have demonstrated outstanding performance in advising undergraduate students early in their professional careers.
Hansen presented her poster entitled “Positive Psychology in the Life of an Adviser” at the Regional NACADA Conference in Omaha.
As a staff member who works with student-athletes, she was invited to attend the “Thank You Tailgate” put on by the Office of Student-Athlete Development.
During finals week, Hansen volunteered to assist in the Exam Accommodation Center. The Exam Accommodations Center provides hundreds of exams during finals week and needs help each semester to make sure they successfully accommodate students.
This week she will be volunteering for the Special Olympics Iowa (SOI) Summer Games. During this event, more than 2,600 athletes will be coming to Iowa State to participate in events such as volleyball, tennis, soccer, cycling, and more. This is the largest event put on by SOI each year.
