Assistant Professor Su Jung Kim reports the following:

Research: A second-authored article with Anke Wonneberger (U of Amsterdam), titled "TV news exposure of young people in changing viewing environments: A longitudinal, cross-national comparison using people-meter data," has been accepted for publication in the International Journal of Communication.

Teaching: In her ADVRT/P R 301 class, Lijing Gao, a recent graduate from the Greenlee Master’s program and a first-year Ph.D. student in Sociology, guest-lectured on the topic of in-depth interviews. She shared her experience of conducting in-depth interviews with farmers in Chinese rural areas for her thesis project. In her ADVRT/JL MC/P R 497G class, students have been working on the TV-Internet 2-screen data from the Nielsen Company Korea to do their first group project.

Service: She has been reviewing for Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication and New Media & Society. Ad Club hosted a guest speaker, Danny Beyer, in partnership with the Des Moines Chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF). Danny Beyer is a networking guru and the author of "The Ties that Bind." Participants engaged in interactive networking activities and learned how to build meaningful and lasting relationships.
