Greenlee School bids adieu and thanks Raluca Cozma for exemplary service

Associate Professor Raluca Cozma is finishing her last semester with the Greenlee School. In early May she will be relocating to Kansas State University.

Michael Bugeja, director, notes that Cozma has been an exceptional colleague and administrator during her time at Iowa State. “She has a quiet confidence and national reputation as both journalist and scholar. She has contributed mightily to our diversity and accreditation efforts. She is one of the top teachers in a School full of award winners.

“She excels in everything she does, and she does everything.”

During her nine years at Iowa State, Cozma published peer-reviewed scholarship about election coverage, political communication and international affairs. She has won top paper status at our flagship conventions. She also headed one of the largest academic divisions—Newspaper and Online News Division—of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication.

Cozma is a star teacher, winner of both the College’s Early Achievement in Teaching Award and the Greenlee Harry Heath/Lou Thompson Adviser Award. She is a member of the AEJMC Standing Committee on Teaching, an elected office.

We wish Raluca and her husband George all the best as they relocate to KSU. To send her a congratulatory note, email her at rcozma@iastate.edu
