BIOGRAPHY
Nicole Allaire is an Associate Teaching Professor in the English Department at Iowa State University. Professor Allaire has an M.Ed. in Adult Education from the University of Minnesota, and an M.A. in Communication Studies from the University of Northern Iowa. She received the Excellence in Teaching Foundational Speech Communication Courses Award from the ISU English Department in May 2021. At ISU, she teaches courses in the Speech Communication Program including Gender Communication, Business and Professional Speaking, Business Communication, Fundamentals of Public Speaking, and Listening. Her listening class focuses on listening with empathy and improving interpersonal relationships. She is a co-editor for numerous publications, including a book with Sarina Chen entitled Discordant Pandemic Narratives in the US, to be published this July.
