Munger Oakes Participates in AWC Panel, Recognized as Outstanding Faculty Member

Lecturer Lisa Munger Oakes participated in an “All-Star Panel” for the Association for Women in Communications Des Moines Professional Chapter. In addition to Munger Oakes, the panel included Lynn Melling, Channel 13 News Anchor; Amalie Nash, Executive Editor, Des Moines Register; and Katherine Perkins, Iowa Public Radio News Director.
“We will be discussing ‘Modern Communication Practices in a Changing World,’” Munger Oakes writes.
Also, Munger Oakes partnered with AWC Des Moines Professional Chapter to create a scholarship program to make joining AWC after graduation more affordable for our graduates.
“AWC National is taking this program as a model to seek to implement it nationally to increase participation among younger professionals,” she wrote.
Munger Oakes also has been recognized by Alpha Delta Pi as an “Outstanding Faculty Member.”
