Bio
Dr. Tracy Lucht is director of the Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication and has been on the faculty since 2012. She is an expert on the history, experiences and representations of women in the U.S. media. A winner of the National Award for Excellence in Teaching from the American Journalism Historians Association, Dr. Lucht has taught courses in writing for the media, investigative journalism, news and feature editing, and journalism history. Dr. Lucht’s research has earned numerous awards, including American Journalism’s Best Article Award and honors for outstanding scholarship in women’s history. Dr. Lucht has published several books, including Sylvia Porter: America’s Original Personal Finance Columnist (Syracuse University Press) and The Routledge Companion to American Journalism History (Routledge). A former copy editor with experience at USA Today, The Washington Post and The Des Moines Register, Dr. Lucht holds a Ph.D. from the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland.
