AMES, Iowa — Drew Harden, president and co-founder of Blue Compass, will share career advice with students at the Greenlee School’s 2020 Futures Forum at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2020.

Hosted by Iowa State University’s Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication, the virtual webinar will take place via YouTube Live: https://youtu.be/IRsKJdBom0I. The event is open to students, alumni, and the community. A Q&A session will take place via chat following the presentation.

Harden’s presentation “10 Powerful Ways to Catch Employers’ Attention & Launch a Strong Career” will provide insights on networking, interviewing and social media practices to help students and early-career professionals stand out in the job search and succeed in the workplace. He’ll also share his thoughts on where digital media is headed.

Harden, a 2003 Iowa State University graduate in advertising and art and design, co-founded the West Des Moines, Iowa-based digital marketing agency in 2007. He guided the company from a two-person start-up to one of the Midwest’s leading digital marketing companies. Harden leads a team of data-driven digital experts focused on website development, digital marketing campaigns and video creation for clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to small family businesses.

Harden is a published author, speaks at marketing conferences around the country, has been cited by publications like USA Today, and has led web projects from clients like Spalding Sports Equipment, NAPA Autoparts and the NFL. He and his team also share their insights through digital marketing training, called the University of Blue, that’s geared to marketers and business owners wanting to dive deep into digital strategies, social media tips and best practices to improve their online marketing results.

The Futures Forum is an annual event hosted by the Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication. It connects industry leaders in advertising, journalism and mass communication and public relations with Iowa State University students. The event is sponsored by William F. and Linda Z. Tubbs.
