Wiegand Earns National Outstanding Adviser Award from NACADA
Greenlee School Academic Adviser Jason Wiegand was selected as a recipient of the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA)’s 2016 Outstanding New Adviser Award.
Greenlee School Academic Adviser Jason Wiegand was selected as a recipient of the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA)’s 2016 Outstanding New Adviser Award.
The Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications approved the Greenlee School’s re-accreditation on a 14-0-4 vote, with three council members abstaining per rules because they had served on the site team or recent Regents review of the program.
Assistant Professors Tracy Lucht and Kelly Winfrey will both be busier next year, as each received a grant to fund their passion projects in the next academic year.
Associate Professor Jay Newell was featured in an article from the Chronicle of Higher Education for his integration of Chinese translations into his class slides in his Advertising Principles course at Iowa State.
Jan Lauren Boyles, assistant professor in the Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication, has been asked to attend an invitation-only “Data Journalism Unconference,” launched by the Global Editors Network.
Greenlee School Director Michael Bugeja has been elected as representative on the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications, the agency responsible for the evaluation of professional journalism and mass communications programs in colleges and universities.
Lecturer Jeff Ames was selected by the Greenlee School’s Student Advisory Board as the 2016 Harry Heath/Lou Thompson, Jr. Advising Award. Ames has been a lecturer at the Greenlee School since 2008 and advises 43 Greenlee majors. He teaches undergraduate courses in writing, video production and broadcasting.
