Laptop Recommendations

Beginning in fall 2020, all students at Iowa State University will be required to own or obtain a laptop computer or other device appropriate to their discipline. The university’s IT department established an information page about the requirement, and the college has additional information on LAS-specific recommendations.

Our Greenlee teaching labs are macOS-based. If you’d like your personal computer to have optimum compatibility with our lab computers, Greenlee IT has recommended the below models as most suitable for Greenlee majors’ needs. These specific models are not required purchases — they are only recommendations based on our experience moving to virtual learning in spring and summer 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
