Boyles’ research to be published in Journalism Studies/Digital Journalism

Assistant Professor [Jan Lauren Boyles](/directory/jan-lauren-boyles/) will have her research on role perceptions of data journalists published in an upcoming joint special edition of Journalism Studies/Digital Journalism. The manuscript, "Letting the Data Speak: Role Perceptions of Data Journalists in Fostering Democratic Conversation," was produced in collaboration with Greenlee master’s student, Eric Meyer.

In December, Boyles also delivered a seminar on her research to the University’s Data-Driven Science Initiative members. This month, she has reviewed academic works for Newspaper Research Journal as well as two upcoming conferences: the World Journalism Education Congress and AEJMC’s Southeast Colloquium.
