Assistant Professor Andrew Pritchard has a peer-reviewed article in the current number of Historical Methods. The study quantifies changes in the contents of colonial Australian newspapers after the end of censorship in 1824.

Pritchard also submitted three papers to the AEJMC conference (two co-authored with M.A. candidate Sisi Hu and one with honors undergraduate Elaina Conrad) and a description of his “Philosophers, Film, and the First Amendment” assignment for a divisional teaching award competition, in addition to serving as a paper reviewer.

In the area of service to the state, Pritchard photographed a fire-safety event for the American Red Cross of Greater Iowa and produced a video available on the Iowa Red Cross YouTube channel. He also was asked by another of the state’s largest nonprofits to draft a memo briefing the organization’s officers on the legal effects of proposed changes to their electronic media policies.
