Greenlee graduate students were invited to participate in the Big Ten Mini-Conference held at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, April 13-14. The conference focused on media-related topics and offered graduate students the opportunity to share their thesis research with those who attended.
Margaret Curry, senior in journalism and mass communication, has been a key player in University Museums’ massive effort to collect biographies of the Cyclones who have left a mark on the world. You can also be a part of the project by volunteering to author one of the remaining 100 biographies.
The Iowa State Daily was named Best All-Around Daily Student Newspaper in Region 7 by the Society of Professional Journalists at the 2017 Mark of Excellence awards. Emily Barske and Emily Blobaum, both seniors in journalism and mass communication, received individual awards for their work for the student news organization.
Ten Iowa State undergraduate students have been selected to participate in the Meredith Apprentice Program for the 2018-19 school year. The Greenlee School’s partnership with Meredith Corporation places students in editorial, digital and graphic design apprenticeships with media brands and departments, including Better Homes and Gardens, Successful Farming and AllRecipes.
First-year McNair Scholars Nayelie Valenzuela, a senior in public relations, and Julian Neely, a junior in journalism and mass communication, presented their undergraduate research at the Iowa State University McNair Scholars Student Research Symposium April 17.
Julian Neely, a junior in journalism and mass communication from Des Moines, has been involved in campus politics since his freshman year. He was elected Iowa State’s student body president on March 8 and will serve the university his last year at Iowa State.
